Michael Blaser

Michael Blaser grew up and continues to live in a river town along the Upper Mississippi. Great riverboats such as the Delta Queen, the Gordon C. Greene, and the Avalon ran past his eyes as a child, when he began his first rough sketches of these wanderers. During his college years, he spent summers working as a bellboy at the Grand Hotel on famous Mackinac Island, where he returns each summer. As an adult student of history, he overlays yesterday's great ships and buildings on a contemporary backdrop, drawing the viewer in to see our own American History looking back at us from these detailed canvases.
